Tecofi float valves
A mechanical float valve holds the water level steady in a tank or cistern: the float rises with the water and closes the valve, and drops as the level falls to open it again, with no power needed. Tecofi lists RF1100 with a brass body and BSP male threads (PVC or copper float), RF6141 with a 316 stainless body and BSP threads (316 stainless float, 16 bar, up to +200°C) and the RF3240/RF3241 cast-iron range with flanges.
| Model | Materials | Connection | Pressure / temperature |
|---|---|---|---|
| RF1100 + RFFLOT | Brass body and seat; PVC or copper float; DN10 to DN100 | BSP male | Max temperature +80°C |
| RF6141 + RFIFLOT | 316 stainless body, shaft and float | BSP | 16 bar; -60°C to +200°C |
| RF3240 / RF3241 | GG25 cast-iron body, epoxy painted | Flanged | 16 bar or 10 bar; RF3241: -10°C to +120°C |

How does a float valve work?
The float is linked to the valve body by a lever arm; as the level drops the float falls and pulls the disc off its seat so water flows in; when the level is reached the float rises and pushes the disc closed.
Brass or stainless float?
PVC and copper floats suit ordinary clean water; stainless floats suit more corrosive media or higher temperatures. Send the tank details and filling flow and CAD will advise.
Frequently asked questions
Where is a mechanical float valve used?
A mechanical float valve keeps the water level constant in tanks and reservoirs without electricity: the float rises with the water and closes the valve, and drops as the level falls and opens it. Tecofi offers threaded or flanged versions with brass, 316 stainless steel or cast iron bodies.
Which float valve models does Tecofi offer?
Tecofi offers the RF1100 with a brass body and male BSP thread (PVC or copper float), the RF6141 with a 316 stainless steel body and BSP thread (316 stainless steel float), and the cast iron RF3240/RF3241 with epoxy-coated flanged bodies.
What are the specifications of Tecofi float valves?
Per the datasheets, the RF1100 comes in DN10 to DN100 with a maximum temperature of +80°C. The RF6141 is rated 16 bar and -60°C to +200°C. The cast iron RF3240/RF3241 are rated 16 bar or 10 bar; the RF3241 works at -10°C to +120°C.
How do I get a quote for a genuine Tecofi float valve?
CAD supplies genuine Tecofi float valves and sends the datasheet, dimension table and CO/CQ. Send the tank characteristics, supply flow, size and connection type via the contact page; CAD advises on the size and quotes within 24 working hours. Datasheets are sent with the quote.
