Applications
According to Tecofi, the BS3242 is a flanged ball valve for general use with all common fluids, range DN15 to DN200.
Construction
- Full bore ball valve with an anti blow-out stem, an FKM O-ring and a PTFE washer on the stem.
- ISO 5211 mounting pad for actuators.
- Solid stainless steel ball up to DN25, hollow ball from DN32 to DN200.
- Black paint RAL 9004, 5 to 15 microns thick.
Working conditions and caution
- Maximum working pressure 16 bar; working temperature -10 °C to +200 °C.
- The Tecofi passport states: do not use for steam or compressed air.
Standards and tests
- Design according to ISO 9001:2008.
- RF flange connection to ISO PN10/16 up to DN150 and ISO PN16 for DN200 (threaded-hole flanges for DN125 and DN150).
- Pressure test according to EN 12266-1: body 24 bar, seat 17.6 bar.

Frequently asked questions about BS3242
Can the BS3242 cast iron ball valve be used on steam or compressed air?
No. The Tecofi passport states not to use it for steam or compressed air. The valve is for general use with common fluids, up to 16 bar and -10 to +200 °C.
Can an electric actuator be fitted to the BS3242?

Which flange standard does the BS3242 follow?
