I/O configuration
| Model | Housing | Universal inputs (UI) | Analog outputs (AO) | Relays | Triacs | Total I/O | Data retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| WEB-RL6N | Large (198 x 110 x 57.5 mm) | 10 | 6 | 4 | 4 | 24 | 72 hours (real-time clock + supercapacitor) |
| WEB-RS5N | Small (162 x 110 x 57.5 mm) | 4 | 4 | 4 | 2 | 14 | 24 hours |
Communication and integration
- BACnet MS/TP (BTL-Listed, B-ASC rev 1.14) with auto-baud rate adaption and auto MAC addressing.
- Two-wire polarity-insensitive Sylk bus for Honeywell TR40x/42x wall modules.
- Works with a WEB-8000 or CIPer Model 50 controller to connect to the internet / building management system.
- An RJ45 connector for a future BACnet WiFi adapter and a second RS485 interface for future Modbus use (per the manufacturer).
Installation
- Ingress protection IP20; outside a cabinet the terminal protection covers (IRM-RLC for the WEB-RL6N) must be fitted to reach IP30.
- Mounts on a rail, wall, in a wiring cabinet or fuse box; removable, colour-coded terminals.
- 24 VAC supply. Honeywell notes the controller is meant for private, protected networks; if it must be reachable from the internet it should be isolated behind a firewall.
Information to send with a quote request
So that CAD can quote within 24 working hours, please send:
- Number of controllers and the application (2-/4-pipe fan coil, chilled ceiling, hydronic, indoor air quality…).
- The I/O points required: universal inputs (UI), analog outputs (AO), relays, triacs.
- The BMS or supervisory controller in use (WEB-8000, CIPer Model 50…) and the BACnet MS/TP network.
- Room sensors / Sylk wall modules and the IP30 terminal covers (IRM-RLC) if mounted outside a cabinet.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about CAD-EL-230
How does the Spyder WEB-RL6N differ from the WEB-RS5N?
The WEB-RL6N has the large housing with 24 I/O points (10 UI, 6 AO, 4 relays, 4 triacs) and 72-hour data retention; the WEB-RS5N has the small housing with 14 I/O points (4 UI, 4 AO, 4 relays, 2 triacs) and 24-hour data retention.
What can the WEB-RL6N control?
According to Honeywell it controls terminal units such as 2- and 4-pipe fan coil units, chilled ceilings, hydronic and indoor air quality applications, including complex applications with a high I/O count; it supports 1–3 stage fans, variable fan speed drives (VSDs), and thermal, floating or proportional actuators.
Which protocol does the WEB-RL6N use to talk to the BMS?
BACnet MS/TP (BTL-Listed, B-ASC rev 1.14) with auto-baud rate adaption and auto MAC addressing; it works with a WEB-8000 or CIPer Model 50. The Sylk bus connects TR40x/42x wall modules.
What are the supply and ingress protection of the WEB-RL6N?
24 VAC supply; IP20, reaching IP30 with the IRM-RLC terminal protection covers fitted.
What do I send to get a quote for the WEB-RL6N?
Send the quantity, the I/O point list, the BMS in use and any wall modules. CAD quotes within 24 working hours.
