Gas shut-off solenoid valves
A solenoid valve opens or closes a flow of gas, air or liquid on an electrical signal; used as a safety shut-off valve it cuts the fuel as soon as power is lost or the controller commands a stop. It is a critical item on furnace and boiler gas trains.

What does normally closed mean?
The valve is shut with no power and opens only while the coil is energised, so a power loss stops the flow.
