FAQ

Frequently asked questions about CAD-SF-410

What is the difference between FS24X-2 and FS24X-9?

FS24X-2 has a 110° field of view and a -40 to +85 °C range. FS24X-9 has a 90° field of view, a -60 to +85 °C range and EN 54-10 certification.

How far can the FS24X detect a fire?

For the reference 1 sq. ft. n-heptane fire, the very high sensitivity setting detects up to about 200 ft (about 61 m); response is 3-5 s at 30 m and 3-10 s at 60 m. Lower sensitivity settings give shorter range.

Does the FS24X detect non-hydrocarbon fires?

Yes. The manufacturer states it detects hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon fuel fires in all environmental conditions.

How does the FS24X connect to a control system?

Fire, fault and auxiliary relays; a 0-20 mA output; RS-485 Modbus or FireBus II communication; HART is an optional module (not available on EN 54-10 units).

What do I need to send for an FS24X quote?

FS24X-2 or -9, housing material, fuel type and distance, output type and the approvals required. CAD replies within 24 working hours.
