Applications

According to Honeywell, the Minipeeper ultraviolet flame detectors detect the ultraviolet radiation emitted by combustion flames and are used with Honeywell flame safeguard controls to provide flame supervision for gas, oil or combination gas-oil burners.

Compatibility and installation

  • Used with the RA890G or the R7249A, R7290A, R7749B and R7849A, B amplifiers and the appropriate Honeywell controls.
  • Two C7035A detectors can be wired in parallel for difficult flame sighting installations.
  • End-viewing flame detection; internal 1-11-1/2 NPSM threaded collar for a one-inch sight pipe; internal 1/2-14 NPSM threads at the rear for conduit.
  • Accessories: 118367A swivel mount (adjustable positioning), 105172C 3/4″ NPT seal-off adapter.

Replacement sensing tube

  • The C7035A ultraviolet radiation sensing tube is field replaceable.
  • Replacement tubes listed by Honeywell: 129464M (0 °F to 250 °F, i.e. -18 °C to +121 °C) and 129464N (-40 °F to 250 °F, i.e. -40 °C to +121 °C).

Comparison within the Minipeeper family

  • C7027A: one-half-inch sight pipe, sensing tube not field replaceable.
  • C7035A: one-inch sight pipe, field-replaceable sensing tube.
  • C7044A: two-screw bracket mount, stainless steel housing, side or end viewing, compact enough for a blast tube.
  • C7927A: used only with the R7851B amplifier and 7800 SERIES controls, cannot be wired in parallel.

Approvals

According to the Honeywell datasheet for the C7027A, C7035A and C7044A: UL listed (File No. MP268), CSA certified (Master Report LR 95329-1), Factory Mutual approved, Swiss Re (formerly Industrial Risk Insurers) acceptable; the C7035A housing meets UL rain-tightness requirements and NEMA types 4 and 4X.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about CAD-TH-231

How does the C7035A flame detector differ from the C7027A, C7044A and C7927A?

The C7035A mounts on a one-inch sight pipe, is end-viewing and has a field-replaceable UV tube. The C7027A mounts on a one-half-inch sight pipe and its tube is not field replaceable. The C7044A uses a two-screw bracket and can view the flame from the end or the side. The C7927A is used only with the R7851B and the 7800 SERIES and cannot be wired in parallel.

Which controls or amplifiers does the C7035A1080 work with?

The RA890G or the R7249A, R7290A, R7749B and R7849A/B amplifiers and the appropriate Honeywell controls. Two detectors can be wired in parallel for hard-to-sight flames.

What makes the C7035A1080 different from other C7035A codes?

Per the datasheet the C7035A1080 has 10 ft (3 m) lead wires rated 600 °F (316 °C); the standard C7035A has 6 ft (1.83 m) leads rated 302 °F (150 °C). Mounting thread 1-11-1/2 NPSM, rear conduit thread 1/2-14 NPSM.

How is the C7035A ultraviolet tube replaced?

The C7035A sensing tube is field replaceable. Honeywell lists two replacement tubes: 129464M (0 to 250 °F) and 129464N (-40 to 250 °F); send the full code of your detector and CAD will confirm the right tube.

What do I send to get a quote for the C7035A1080?

Send the full code, quantity, the amplifier in use, the burner fuel and any replacement tube needed. CAD quotes within 24 working hours.
