The Honeywell V5055 is a series of normally closed die-cast aluminium industrial gas valve bodies, 3/4 to 4 inch, for natural gas and LP gas; paired with a V4055, V4062 or V9055 fluid power actuator it forms a safety shutoff valve controlling gas to commercial and industrial burners.

Sizes, connections and capacity
- Seven NPT threaded sizes from 3/4 to 3 inch (BSP-PL threaded versions available); the 4 inch size (V5055A, B, C) has flange connections. Most models have a 1/4 inch upstream and downstream tap and plug; a yellow SHUT indicator on the valve stem shows the closed position.
- Rated capacity at 1 in. w.c. (2.5 mbar) pressure drop, gas of specific gravity 0.64: 3/4 in 18.8 m³/h; 1 in 27.2; 1-1/4 in 39.8; 1-1/2 in 48.6; 2 in 102.5; 2-1/2 in 120.3; 3 in 148.1; 4 in 288.8 (V5055A) or 259.9 (V5055B, C) m³/h.
- Weight about 1.8 kg (3/4-1-1/2 in), 3.6 kg (2 in), 5.0 kg (2-1/2 and 3 in), 12.7 kg (4 in).
- Maximum rated pressure of the high-pressure V5055D, E: 5 bar (75 psi) in the 3/4-1-1/2 in sizes and 3 bar (45 psi) in the 2-3 in sizes; see the pressure table in Honeywell’s document for each valve and actuator combination.

Does the V5055 open and close by itself or does it need an actuator?
The V5055 is the valve body; it must be paired with a V4055, V4062 or V9055 fluid power actuator to control the gas. Choose the actuator by the mode needed: on-off, hi-lo-off or modulating.
How do the V5055A and V5055B differ?
The V5055A is an on-off valve. The V5055B has a characterized guide and, with the V4055 (slow-opening), V4062 (hi-lo-off) or V9055 (modulating), regulates gas flow.
When should I choose V5055C, D, E or F?
