Fixed gas detectors
A fixed gas detector (transmitter) is installed where leaks may occur, measures concentration continuously and sends the signal to a controller or PLC to alarm, shut down equipment or start ventilation.
- Combustible gas: catalytic or infrared sensors
- Toxic gas (H2S, CO, etc.) and oxygen: electrochemical sensors
- Gas stations, chemical plants, compressor rooms, car parks
- Select by gas type, range, hazardous area rating and output signal

At what height should a gas detector be mounted?
It depends on gas density: lighter-than-air gases high, heavier-than-air gases low near the floor.

Yes, especially electrochemical cells; calibrate and replace per manufacturer guidance.
