Tecofi float valves

A mechanical float valve holds the water level steady in a tank or cistern: the float rises with the water and closes the valve, and drops as the level falls to open it again, with no power needed. Tecofi lists RF1100 with a brass body and BSP male threads (PVC or copper float), RF6141 with a 316 stainless body and BSP threads (316 stainless float, 16 bar, up to +200°C) and the RF3240/RF3241 cast-iron range with flanges.

How does a float valve work?

The float is linked to the valve body by a lever arm; as the level drops the float falls and pulls the disc off its seat so water flows in; when the level is reached the float rises and pushes the disc closed.

Brass or stainless float?

PVC and copper floats suit ordinary clean water; stainless floats suit more corrosive media or higher temperatures. Send the tank details and filling flow and CAD will advise.
