Tecofi balancing valves

A balancing valve lets you measure and set the flow and pressure of each branch so that a heating or cooling system (chillers, FCUs) delivers the design heat to every point. Tecofi lists RC2152 with a bronze body and BSP threads (DN15 to DN50, 25 bar), and RC4240, RC4241 and RC4251 with ductile iron bodies and flanges (PN16 or PN25, two steel pressure test points).

What does a balancing valve do in an HVAC system?

It gives each branch its design flow, so branches near the pump do not take too much while far ones starve; room temperatures even out and the pump works at its design point.

How is a balancing valve sized?

From the flow and the pressure drop wanted on the branch, not from the pipe diameter. Send the design flow and pipe DN and a CAD engineer will size the valve.
